Ductless & Mini-Split Heat Pumps

A ductless mini-split heat pump gives you the flexibility of heating and cooling one room or one area of your building through a single central air unit. This type of pump contains an indoor component (evaporator) and an outdoor unit (condenser) that work together to regulate the temperature.

Ductless mini-split heat pumps are most often used in sunrooms and additions, where the controlled air from a centralized HVAC unit may not reach efficiently. Since you're controlling a small section of your home, you're better able to regulate the temperature, thus saving you on your heating and cooling.

Factors to Consider in Ductless & Mini-Split Heat Pumps

  • The ability to heat and cool just the specific area
  • The use of less energy (9,000 or 12,000 BTUs compared to 18,000 BTUs of a standard HVAC unit)
  • Remote control functionality
  • Easier retrofitting due to a smaller opening being required
  • Reduced efficiency loss from less duct usage

Inverter Technology

Inverter air conditioners are more economical, quieter and easier to operate compared to conventional units. They also allow for greater temperature extremes and added customization.

High Performance Heating

Units can accommodate lower outdoor temperatures by using a larger heat exchanger and higher capacity compressor. Systems can operate down to - 20ºC

Easy Installation

You only need a 3 to 4 inch opening to install a ductless mini-split heat pump. This makes this only a minor renovation job, as opposed to having to replace entire sections of the outdoor wall for a standard HVAC replacement/upgrade.
